My name is Katherine Jones, Kumon of Aloha instructor/director. Kumon has given me the opportunity to work with children and I treasure every experience that I have had over the years. I believe strongly that the Kumon Method not only unlocks the children’s potential, but that it also unveils the possibilities of becoming a better person in all arenas of life.
“Knowledge is learning“…
The thirst and hunger to learn that I have seen from my students are the driving forces that propel me to promote the Kumon program to as many children as possible. These students come to Kumon ready to learn, whether it is to review old concepts or to learn new concepts. Every day I witness a smile spreading wide or even a puzzled frown drawn on their faces; both expressions bearing fruit as part of their learning process. Their little hands and ever active minds are always working, even when they are taking a break to think. I watch them work, I hear them talk, I smell their triumph, I feel their anxieties, and they touch my heart with their little thank you notes and hand drawn pictures. All of my senses are engaged when I am with them.
At the end of the day, I see my students happier and more confident. I am proud of all of my students, the Junior Kumon students whose feet dangle from their chairs and barely reach the floor to a mix of grade school to high school students whose dreams are as fluctuated as days and nights. One thing they all have in common is that they all want to learn. Kumon and I provide them the right tools to unlock their potential and to become better learners.
