About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

My name is Cyrus Jameh, and I am your Kumon Instructor. I have been always interested in making a difference in people's lives and I always had a passion for teaching. During my graduate studies at the University of Arizona, I taught at Pima community college in Tucson, Arizona. After I earned my Master's degree in Nuclear Engineering I moved to Houston, Texas, I entered into the ship building industry, and meanwhile, I taught at Kingwood Community College. I loved teaching and I got tremendous enjoyment from seeing the light of knowledge in my student's eyes. Eventually, my family and I moved to Dallas Fort Worth area where I worked at an engineering firm and also taught at North Lake College in Irving. By this time I had several years of teaching experience under my belt. However, I was not getting the results that I was interested in. Most students at college level, either knew their material or they struggled to catch up due to their weak background. During my time as a college professor, I learned about the Kumon Math and Reading Programs as I saw several of my successful students who were involved in the program. They were achieving great results in their school work and displayed more confidence overall. I was so impressed with the program that I went through Kumon's rigorous and thorough training program to become a Kumon instructor. I opened this Center and I am very proud to be able to offer this service in my community, and I look forward to working with your children.
