About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

My name is Raquel Capuano and I am the instructor here at Kumon of Arnold. I was born and raised in Maryland, specifically Charles County. When I was in middle school, my mother enrolled my siblings and me into the Kumon Program for both Math & Reading. My mother could immediately see the benefits of Kumon and in 2006 decided to open her own center in Charles County. I was by her side through the entire process and became her lead assistant. I later left to finish college at the University of Maryland. From there I was a General Manager for a major fitness center chain for 6 years. I had always felt a calling to open my own Kumon center and in 2020 I finally took the plunge. Kumon has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember and I think my whole family's dedication and love for the program speaks to the level of success that is possible with our program. I cannot wait to meet your children and help them reach their goals in and out of the classroom!
