About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

My professional career started in education. I received my Master's Degree in Biology and taught high school students. On immigrating to the USA, I got a MBA from the University of Texas in Austin. After a career in blue-chip consumer packaged goods and technology, I decided to come back to my passion - teaching.

I have witnessed the effectiveness of Kumon's unique methodology over the years, not only with hundreds of students attending Kumon of Austin - Four Points, but also with my own sons.

I view Kumon as not just a supplement to academics but also instrumental in developing character traits of resiliency, grit and goal-setting to reach and expand one's true potential with a growth mind-set.
