Emma's Story

Emma L

Emma is five years old and enrolled in Kumon of Beacon in February 2020, a month before we had to close due to COVID restrictions. Since then, Emma has been working with us remotely on Zoom. Her parents chose to homeschool her for Kindergarten, using Kumon as a supplement to her education. Now, a year and a half later, without even setting foot in an elementary school, Emma is now working on second grade material in both Math and Reading. When she returns to school in the fall as a first grader, Emma will be a confident student and way ahead of her peers academically.

Emma enjoys playing games with her friends and especially loves playing bubbles with her younger brother. Her favorite food are watermelon and cereal. Emma also loves The Magic School Bus and knows many interesting facts about the human anatomy. When she grows up, she would like to become a doctor just like her father.

Emma won Student of the Year Award (Zoom) in 2021.

Avnoor's Story

Avnoor Pic

Avnoor is eight years old and enrolled in Kumon Math in the summer of 2019, just as she was about to enter first grade. A hardworking and conscientious student, Anoor advanced quickly through the Math program, often working on concepts she has yet to be exposed to in school. Now, two years later, Avnoor is working on fifth-grade level math. She is always excited to learn new concepts, and although difficult at first, Anoor is currently working on challenging material such as fractions and order of operations, something her friends at school haven't even heard of!

Avnoor enjoys Art and has won several awards at school for her masterpieces. She enjoys playing outside, reading, and drawing. Some of her favorite sports include badminton and basketball. Avnoor's favorite food are mac and cheese, pizza, mash potatoes, and Indian food.

Avnoor won the Student of the Year Award (Classroom) in 2021.
