About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Sweety Headshot

My name is Sweety and I am the Instructor at the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Bernardsville, New Jersey. My favorite thing about being a Kumon instructor is sharing that “AHA” moment with my students. It motivates me to hear students say, “I got it!” and, “I did it!” This is my role; to develop a love of learning. I am dedicated to helping children understand the HOW and WHY of learning so that they become independent, self-learners.

The Kumon Math and Reading Center of Bernardsville first opened in 2011. Next year, we will be celebrating our 10th Anniversary! Prior to my time with Kumon, I received my Bachelors Degree in computer engineering and worked as a director of IT services in New York City. I became a Kumon Instructor because work and life balance became important to me when I had my children. My boys, ages 11 and 7, both started Kumon when they were only 3 years old. They are now more confident as learners and they are on their journey to becoming independent learners, as well.

Outside of Kumon, I spend time with my family. I also channel my inner self through the practice of yoga. I am truly dedicated to the development of all of my students and take great pride in creating lesson plans that maintain the “just right” level of difficulty. I look forward to meeting with you and your family!
