About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, Jena serves as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. She creates an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and emphasizes the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of her students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon instructors, she has a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Jena is committed to assist and encourage students to excel academically and enhance personal skills by experiencing the extensive benefits of the Kumon Method. The students will build confidence, self-discipline, and a desire to succeed that they will carry to their life-long learning.

Jena Terranova is certified with the latest advancements in the Kumon Method. She resolutely believes that each child has unlimited potential to learn and can naturally advance intellectually. After seeing her son’s progress with Kumon’s individualized learning method, Jena was inspired to promote Kumon in her own community. Her son has been ranked #1 in North America for his advanced reading level and finally completed the Kumon Reading Program a few days before his 7th birthday. In the subject of math, he is five grade levels ahead of those in his same age group.

She has a great passion for education on all levels and wants to help children achieve a higher level of learning through this time-honored method. She also believes the earlier you expose your children to Kumon, the greater the benefits. 

Jena has helped a great number of students acquire better academic performances, improved confidence level and more effective study habits.

For over 20 years, Jena worked as a senior manager at various global companies such as Pepsi-Cola, Kodak and leading telecommunication companies. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Marketing Management, an MBA in Finance and post-graduate diplomas in International Marketing and Database Management from UC Berkeley and UCLA. She is married and lives in Burbank, CA. She also has a daughter who is progressing quickly in the Kumon curriculum and loves to learn and read.
