About the Instructor

As the Instructor of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Cary - Farm Woods, I am committed to working with children and ensuring that every one of my students excels in Reading and Math. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement to the students and families. I create an individualized instruction plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This helps students increase their self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant and life-long learners.

Mrs. Sima Timbalia was raised in North Carolina. Her parents instilled the value of education and having a strong foundation early on. She strongly believes that "A good education is the basis of whatever one wishes to accomplish and enjoy life to its fullest." She attended the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill where she received her degree in BSPH (Bachelors of Science in Public Health) with a concentration in Nutrition. She completed her dietetic internship at The Ohio State University and soon passed her boards to become a Registered Dietitian. Mrs. Sima worked in the Food Industry for seven years in various departments such as Sensory, Product Development, Quality Assurance, Technical, Quality Control, Purchasing and Logistics in several companies including Wendy's International, The J.M. Smucker Company and McClancy Seasoning. In 2013, Mrs. Sima chose to become the Instructor for the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Cary - Farm Woods. Her passion is to work with the students, and makes it her personal mission to help children acquire critical lifelong skills to become successful in whatever they wish to do. Mrs. Sima is known to be very detail oriented, passionate about teaching kids life skills, and will go above and beyond to help her students reach their full potential. Mrs. Sima has successfully completed the Kumon Training program including hands-on training at the Company Center and other Kumon Centers.  She is a Certified Kumon Instructor for the Math and Reading Program! 

She was nominated to be a part of the "J by 6" team.  This team has a strong focus on helping students reach level J by 6th grade. 

She has a growing mindset and is continuously attending Seminars to enhance her knowledge of the Kumon worksheets and program.
