About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

bio

My name is Smita Yarlagadda, and I began my Kumon journey as a Kumon parent in 2008 when my son enrolled in both Math and Reading. After he had been enrolled for a few years, I began working in the Kumon Scottsdale Shea Center and fell more in love with the program and Kumon Method. While balancing being a mom, working for Kumon, and having a career as a tax professional, I decided to become a Kumon Instructor in 2019 at the Kumon of Cave Creek - Tatum Ranch Center. It has been a roller coaster of a journey due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, but I am extremely proud of my Center and excited for what the future has in store!

In my free time, I enjoy seeing friends and family, interior decorating, and watching HGTV! I combine my affinity of interior decorating and HGTV by also being a fully licensed Realtor.

Training and Certification

Prior to operating Kumon Cave Creek, I graduated from Andhra University in India with an MBA in Marketing. I started my career in Germany as a Global Communications Manager. After moving to the United States, I continued my career as a Tax professional and fostered my passion for education by starting and monitoring my own preschool in India. My love of education led me to becoming the Instructor of Kumon Cave Creek, and it has been wonderful!
