My journey to become a Kumon instructor started as a parent. As a mother of two children, I wanted to provide my children with the right tools for them to succeed in school. I enrolled my kids at a nearby Kumon and for the next five years watched my children go from C to A students in mathematics. I saw how the confidence through Kumon carried over to their schoolwork and how these accomplishments in the classroom translated to successes in life.I wanted to provide other families with this same fulfillment. Therefore, in 1993 I decided to start a Kumon in Central Laguna Niguel to instill excellence in future generations.
Over the past 20 years, I have been fortunate to be apart of the success of thousands of students. However, my students have also taught me many lessons. I have learned that a student’s academic struggles are unique. There is no one way to help every student reach his or her full potential. But through my many years of instructing, I have acquired effective techniques to address individual student weaknesses. The tailored approach of Kumon allows flexibly, giving students proper goals sharpening their strengths while focusing on their weaknesses. Through my students I have come to realize the obstacles that hinder the success of many students and how best to help a child realize his or her full potential. Being apart of your child’s success fuels my passion to provide the very best education.
One of my favorite quotes is from Thomas Edison-- "Genius is one percent inspiration, ninety-nine percent perspiration." With commitment and hard work a child's potential has no limits. My goal is to not only teach students about math and reading, but to instill in them confidence and a strong work ethic that will help them succeed in their future.
