Biography and Background

About the Center Director
Kumon Math and Reading Center of Claremont -North

Prior to opening the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Claremont – North, I received my master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering. I worked as an Engineer involved in manufacturing engine components for military aircrafts. As an Engineer, I was involved in process planning for Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. I also co-founded APlusStudent Inc., an online education company that focused on K-12 Math education using engaging and interactive tutorials. At APlusStudent, I directed the content development and worked with school teachers.

I have been running my Kumon Center for over 13 years, and worked with several thousand students. Many of my students have completed the Math and Reading Kumon Programs, and gone on to attend top universities including: Cal Tech, Dartmouth, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UCSD, Yale, and more. I have personally seen my own daughters successfully complete the Kumon Program and apply it to their high school and college careers. My mission is to help every student develop strong learning skills in math and reading, excellent study habits, and the confidence they need to succeed in school and beyond. It is a pleasure to work with students and see them grow and reach their full potential through the Kumon Program.

In addition to running my Kumon Center, I am actively involved as a volunteer, teaching robotics to young students. I have served as a coach and mentor for several First Lego League Robotics Teams and received recognition as an outstanding STEM educator at the Cal Poly Pomona Robot Rally. I am fluent in five languages, and love to travel the world, scuba dive, and run half and full marathons.
