Ms. Chen holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical Engineering, and a B.S. in Physics. She was a post-doctoral fellow at the Harvard Medical School for two years. Then she came to Buffalo with her husband, who received an offer to be a faculty member for the University at Buffalo.
For about ten years, Ms. Chen worked as a scientific researcher in the bio-medical engineering field. She authored and co-authored about 15 professional journal papers and proceedings.
In 2011, Ms. Chen became a mother of triplets, one girl and two boys. Raising her three little ones sparked an inner desire to ensure that our future generation develops a love for learning. She was impressed with the Kumon Method of Learning and how it helps students develop discipline, accuracy, and focus. As a result, she became inspired and opened her own franchise - the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Clarence - to serve the students of Western NewYork.
