My name is Miyoung Park and I have lived in Demarest for more than 20 years. My son and daughter graduated from Demarest Middle School and Bergen County Academies. During this time, both of my children were active members of the BCA Math Team where I worked as a volunteer. This experience helped me to realize that the Kumon Program can help students achieve the fluency, accuracy and speed necessary to solve the most challenging math problems.
My husband and I opened Kumon of Closter in 2011 and I have been actively involved in the center ever since then. During that time, many students who attended Kumon of Closter, have excelled in their schoolwork and received admission to prestigious high schools and colleges. Kumon students gain a well-established foundation in math and reading, a positive attitude toward learning and self-confidence. Over the years, I have supported many Kumon students to develop good study habits and a strong education foundation.
Through the Kumon Method and philosophy, I have gained the tools by which I can instruct children to learn new material and become stronger individuals. I’m excited to work with children in our community to develop the skills necessary to succeed in academics and society.
