I was introduced to Kumon when my older daughter was 5 years old. I was looking for a reading program and happened to notice a local Kumon center while grocery shopping. I walked in, had my daughter assessed, and signed her up the next day. We started with reading and added math later. While being a Kumon parent, my goal for my daughter was developing her reading ability which was accomplished. However, I only realized much later when I became a Kumon instructor, that had I kept my daughter enrolled further in the reading program, she would have benefited much sooner in developing critical thinking skills, writing skills, and comprehension.
Through my daughter’s journey in Kumon, I became a Kumon Instructor in 2010 because I truly saw that the Kumon program works. I love working with children and helping them achieve success in not only their academics, but also in their study habits. I love to see that “ah-ha” moment when a child understands a concept for the first time.
Within my 14-year journey as a Kumon Instructor, I have had multiple reading and math program completers. I hope to have many more in the coming years.
