Before becoming a Kumon instructor, I held various positions in the education sector. I have always enjoyed working with children, developing strategies, setting up individual progress plans, and naturally building strong personal connections with them. As an educational leader, I valued collaborating with different stakeholders and experts to brainstorm ideas and find solutions. The most rewarding part of my role is supporting students to be productive, stay motivated, and achieve their goals.
My Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Educational Leadership from Canada has deepened my understanding of current best practices and research aimed at enhancing student learning in areas such as literacy, math, assessment, and critical and creative thinking. It has also refined my leadership skills, particularly in developing leadership capacity and leading a learning community. As a Canadian citizen working in a multicultural environment, I am committed to promoting inclusion and cultural awareness through a culturally responsive teaching approach, which benefits all students. Owning a Kumon franchise has furthered my ability to foster multicultural awareness and inclusion, helping students from diverse backgrounds and preparing them to thrive in an increasingly diverse world.
