I have been teaching Math for over three decades now. Most of my career has been spent teaching high school students. My main focus remains on making Math understandable, relevant and exciting for my students through real-life examples and correlation. I make an effort to make them understand through logical explanations and thus enabling them to use it in the future. Each student, of course, has a different approach to everything and the best teacher would first identify it and then use it to guide the student in the right direction. I have seen students struggling in High School due to gaps in their learning. Helping students bridge gaps in their learning and reach their full potential is one of my main goals as a Kumon Instructor. My passion to bring out the best in my students has brought me to Kumon. Kumon seemed to be the ideal environment to make my dream come true, ‘Empowering students to become self-reliant, contributing members of their society.'
Spending childhood with my six siblings, I grew up as a self-discovering and self-evolving person. Struggling through the path of education, I discovered that what you impart in a high-school kid is eventually what they become. Thus, I decided to take up education and that too in the subject that was most exciting to me, Mathematics. After completing my Masters in Math and teaching for a couple of years, I realized that education was science itself. So, I went on to complete my Masters in Education. I have been teaching for the last twenty-nine years. I live with my husband who is a Ph.D. in Mathematics and helps me frequently in my chores. My two sons also live with us, the elder being a CPA and the younger, an IT Professional. I’m grateful to my family for their support in my Kumon Journey.
