About the Instructor

Hi there, my name is Vienna So and I am the Instructor and owner of the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Calgary - Silver Springs & Nose Hill.

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. 

Through working with the students at the Silver Springs (formerly Scenic Acres) Kumon Centre for over 10 years, I have seen the benefits of early learning, development of independent learners and the mastery of math and reading through Kumon, which builds a strong foundation of all other aspects of learning and life.

In addition to my experience at the Kumon Centre, I hold a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Calgary and have completed the in-depth training at Kumon University. Kumon requires its instructors to attend these training sessions to teach them about Kumon’s philosophy and methodology and bring them up to date with how the latest trends and advancements in education can be integrated at Kumon.

I am highly motivated to contribute to both the education of today’s younger generations and the community as a whole, and I care deeply about each and every student that comes to my centre.
