About the Instructor

Introduction

My name is Iffat Rana, instructor and owner of the Kumon of Calgary West Springs. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Prior to becoming a Kumon Instructor I was a psychologist and a teacher, and I have been working with children for a long while. I was also a Kumon Parent, and have been able to see the benefits of the Kumon program first-hand.  Throughout the years I have had the opportunity to see that self-learning and guidance is a recipe for success. My passion is to bring out the best in the children I work with, so I actively and very diligently work to ensure that they succeed. Kumon helps children develop routine, discipline and skills that allow them to succeed academically, while also allowing them to grow through their quirks and personality. Kumon enforces good work ethics and promotes hard work above anything. It also emphasizes the importance of time management by encouraging the kids to finish their assignments in a given time.
