Before owning the Kumon center in Celina, TX, Valarmathi, Ms. Valar, had been using her Master's degree in Computer Science during a successful 20-year career in academic and corporate. However, in 2022, Ms. Valar was astonished to know about Kumon's methodology by her daughter who worked for Kumon.
Having her background and deep knowledge on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math), Ms. Valar was able to recognize and appreciate the potential of the Kumon program in developing self-confidence and self-discipline. Ms. Valar left her flourishing career as a Data Scientist and underwent training to become a certified Kumon instructor. It is because of her passion and belief in the Kumon methodology for learning math and reading and her desire to contribute to a vibrant learning community in Celina, TX.
Ms. Valar believes that parents need to ensure that their students are mastering the fundamentals in math and reading so that they can compete someday in a global job market. While schools in Celina and Prosper ISD may teach essential concepts, Kumon aims to develop mastery of basic fundamentals. Therefore, with the collective efforts of both exceptional schools in Celina, TX and the Kumon methodology, Ms. Valar insists that students in Celina will be better suited for collegiate-level studies and fulfilling careers.
