About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Meet Mrs. Purewal!

Charanpreet (Sandy) Purewal is the Head Instructor and Director of the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Clovis-East.

Her passion for education has led her to become a Kumon Instructor. Her own son has gone through the program. She saw first handedly the gaps in our public education system. She is compassionate and enjoys seeing kids grow not only in academics, but also in other key areas of their lives such as work skills and the ability to figure things out. She is well versed with a background in public education, while also having knowledge of Kumon as a parent and now an Instructor.

She wholeheartedly believes in the Kumon Method and wants to change one child at a time.

Training and Certification

Mrs. Purewal's Training and Certification History

Sandy has taught at Clovis Unified School District in many roles, and worked recently with Intervention Students.

She holds a B.S. degree in Business Administration with an emphasis on International Business. She then went on to get her Multiple Subject Teacher Credential after a few years of working in the corporate world.

Before becoming a certified Kumon Instructor, Sandy proceeded through the Kumon University training, which was an extensive program that prepared professionals to become licensed Kumon Instructors. This program consisted of several training courses, programs, and certifications on the "Kumon Method."
