About the Instructor

Introduction

Helping Kids Reach Their Goals

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement.

I am a proud mom of daughters that benefited from the Kumon Program. One of them is pursuing a pre-med curriculum at a state university with a tuition scholarship based on the strong fundamentals she developed in Kumon. My second daughter has completed the Kumon Reading Program 4 years ahead of her grade and is on her way to complete level K (about 12th Grade Math in her 9th Grade).

Similarly, I aspire to help the kids that come to my center to develop a disciplined study approach towards the fundamentals of math and reading. My intent is to help the kids become self-reliant problem solvers, eager learners, patient students and disciplined practitioners.

I create an at-home study plan and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Biography and Background

I have lived in Pinellas County since 2002 and have a Bachelor of Arts in Complementary and Alternative Health. I became familiar with the Kumon Method in 2003 when my elder daughter was enrolled in Kumon of Largo and St. Petersburg. I continued to actively participate in her progress at a Kumon Center overseas and enrolled my second daughter in the program in 2010 while there. As the Kumon Program is consistent throughout the world, it helps with continuity from place to place, especially if you are a travelling family.

One of the most important aspects of the Kumon Method is the consistency in the curriculum and the ongoing support from instructors. I could see firsthand the improvements my daughters achieved as they learned to self study and practice the method even as we moved geographies. The Kumon Method has encouraged me to be fully involved in the kids' work, while knowing that the Instructors at the Kumon Center are there for them. I know how to handle the feedback kids have of the program and articulate the benefits it brings to them. I plan to do the same for the students at Kumon of Dunedin.

I have gone through extensive training and have practical hands on experience from my interactions at the Kumon of Largo for 5 years before taking over the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Dunedin. Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. Kumon strives to instill in children the desire to self learn and enjoy the satisfaction of reaching goals on their own.

You can learn more about the progress some of our enrolled students are making on our Success Stories page.

Please join me at Kumon of Dunedin to begin a collaborative process in your child’s education. Together we can strive to achieve continued success.
