Krishiv is Shooting for Mars, one Kumon Level at a time !

krishiv

Krishiv wants to be an astronaut and it is no surprise he finds the math and reading skills at Kumon fascinating. Krishiv was 4 years old when he joined the program and has leveraged his three years at the center to be amongst the top three students in his math class. He likes that Kumon makes him smarter and enables him to finish his school work faster.

Krishiv loves playing soccer and tennis with his friends and is extremely proud of his swimming medals. He advocates patience as a virtue that he feels kids should have.

Krishiv loves playing with his Kumon friends and talking to his teacher. We love that he introduces us to his visiting family on all the virtual sessions and we look forward to these cheerful introductions with his engaged family.

He wants to follow his parents to be a business owner and is always asking questions about how we operate the Kumon franchise. Maybe one day he will open up a franchisee on Mars :)

Jiya's super powers for navigating kumon adventures !

jiya

Jiya has been working hard and growing fast at Kumon consistently for more than 2 years. She feels her experience at Kumon is adventurous, which we thought was interesting.

She loves that Kumon challenges her and it has helped her by getting to know different methods of learning . Growing up she wants to become a good person and help her parents as they work hard to bring the families a successful life. Jia loves swimming and biking and wants to be a doctor. She feels that completing the G level in Kumon is one of her proudest accomplishments. To other kids, her recommendation is to just try to challenge yourself, even though it may be challenging and difficult. Her motto “And mistakes are a way to learn! “ We love Jiya for her awesome mature thoughts and always find her engaging during the class. We know her parents are proud of her and so are we. We thank them for their active role in imbibing the virtues of good ethics and hard work.

Kemani made his mom very happy with his improved grades !

Kemani

Kumon has taught Kemani that time is very valuable, so he enjoys and values the one-on-one interaction with the instructors, and we love having him right back. Kemani, a 7 year old 2nd grade student, wants to continue attending Kumon in order to keep getting better at math. He was also rewarded by being recognized at school. Kemani likes to reason out a problem to get the correct answer and we like to celebrate with him when it gets it right.

  • He loves playing soccer, reading, and hanging out with his uncle. We are always excited to engage with Kemani and are happy to see him make his enthusiastic mother proud

  • Confident Lotta finds it’s fun to get better at things with perseverance.

    Lotta

Lotta read her first chapter book this summer and she loves reading them for fun in the afternoon. One of things she learned at Kumon was to time herself and to stay focused. Now, not only does she enjoy finishing her Kumon papers and learning new words, she also pays it forward by teaching her brother new words (and we can spot a future Kumon Instructor when we see one).

Working on Kumon, she was able to catch up to her classmates and begin reading faster.  She likes going outside to play and to write and draw. When she grows up, she wants to work with nature and animals.  Lotta says “I have a lot of ideas for my future and Kumon is helping me feel confident that I can make them happen.” And we are sure with a very supportive and engaging mother, she surely will.

Lotta's advice for future Kumon-goers,  “Be patient and take it one sheet at a time. You will learn so much.”

Kelbie will test her way to good grades!

    kelbie

Kelbie, who is 8 and aspires to be a dancer, loves the challenge to take tests. She aspires to get good grades and uses the Kumon skill to do mental math fast. She loves to repeat and recite the multiplication tables. She has fun doing Kumon, which has helped her get good grades in school. Her advice to other kids “Do your best.”  We love her persistence and her ever smiling face. We appreciate her involved parents who prioritize her Kumon work at home and ensure she attends every session with us every week. With her good work ethics we are sure she will dance her way to good grades.

Award winning Kaelyn is an Entrepreneur in the Making

    kaelyn

Kaelyn enjoys moving up levels in Kumon and we know she will reach the top, with evidence being her good grades at school. Kaelyn loves to keep herself engaged in drawing, reading, gymnastics, playing board games and being outside. We are impressed that with all this activity, she always completes her Kumon work on time. She likes the challenge from the Kumon work and is disciplined to correct any errors on her own before she joins her sessions. She advises kids to do the same if they want to master math and move up levels quickly. We love her engaged parents who are proud that their daughter has won the Joseph L. Carwise Achievement Award, three times in a row. Kaelyn wants to start her own business and we know she will succeed in whatever she chooses to do.

PS : We secretly hope she will own a Kumon Franchise with hundreds of enrolled students :)

Ajel's pursuit of mastery and perseverance!

    Ajel

Ajel penned this summary of his experience at Kumon. We love that Ajel pursues mastery and he himself often requests work to be repeated in order to excel. He perseveres to self learn and only asks for help after he has given it a try multiple times. We are thankful to his parents for trusting us and believing in the methods of Kumon.

“I am Ajel, I’m 11, and I live in Dunedin. Kumon has helped me a lot throughout my life. I’ve done Kumon since I was still in Pre-K so that meant that I was ahead of my grade which made it feel easy when doing my schoolwork. It helped develop my self-confidence which helps me a lot with my performance in School. It is such a great after-school program to do and many of you guys would agree with me.

This program made me receive a lot of awards like the PRIDE winner award trophy in math throughout Pinellas County Schools.

Kumon is a great program and it will give you a foundation for a successful life like it did for me.“

    Clare enjoys her special time!

    claire

“I want to reach level L, and hang my name tag on the top of the wall.” That's the ambition of Clare, a Kumon of Dunedin student since Pre-K. Clare who is now a first grader and doing 4th grade math, says “I like the Instructor and staff in my Kumon Center. They are very nice. They help me whenever I need help.“

The most important aspect of the Kumon Method is teaching kids to self learn and that's evident when she says she likes learning new things that she doesn’t know. She believes that the Kumon worksheets make her better academically and that Kumon has made her more confident in school work. And it shows, Clare has made it to the Principal's Honor Roll list for being excellent in every subject in both Kindergarten and First grade. She takes pride in knowing that she is doing math and reading much above her grade level.

“I know that every single day I have a 'special time' that I need to sit still at the desk and focus on my assignments.” She appreciates that Kumon has helped her develop a very good learning habit. She believes that finishing assignments includes correcting the mistakes and mastering them, not just filling the blanks.

Clare is also having fun like she should, travelling to new places, ice skating, dancing, drawing. She aspires to be an Artist and a Scientist. What a great blend of math and reading.

“Try your best. Do it as fast as you can. Never give up.” Clare's words of wisdom for her peers and we must admit, even for the instructors and staff at Kumon of Dunedin.

Clare is a rare gem, we love her and are thankful to her attentive and involved parents :)
