About the Instructor

Introduction

My name is Sally Chan, Instructor for the Edmonton - Albany Kumon Centre. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

With my background in Architectural design (Architectural diploma, Interior Design major, and a Certificate in Project Management), I’ve had the opportunity to be a part of many exciting projects throughout my previous career, such as designing the Opening Ceremony of the 2002 Winter Olympics (in Salt Lake City); designing the Refrigeration Ice Plant for Michelle Kwan (for her skating facility in Artesia, California); and many other projects for industrial Oil Field Companies.

As a previous Kumon parent, myself, I have seen the impact it has had on the success of my own children. I truly believe our children are the future, and having the opportunity to encourage, motivate, and dedicate my time to our younger generation, would be my greatest achievement yet.
