About the Instructor

Introduction

My name is Dr. Sinoj Abraham, and I am the Instructor at the Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Edmonton – Callingwood Park. As an extensively trained and certified professional Instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while providing direction, support and encouragement. I prepare a customized lesson plan for the learning needs of your children. I help them foster confidence and pleasure while they make advancements through the unique way of self-learning to understand the Kumon Method of learning. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence and love of learning, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

bio

My academic experience includes a Ph.D. in Chemical Science and Engineering followed by 15 years of teaching and research at the
University of Alberta, Kings University and Concordia University in Edmonton.

After seeing students struggle when they reach higher education, I realized that I wanted to help bridge the learning gap by setting students up for success early on in their learning journey. My passion for the Kumon Method only continues to grow, from spending time working with my wife in her Centre, to the progress I have seen in my own children’s learning journey through their Kumon studies. My true passion is education and I have an earnest desire to help children succeed. I believe young people today need not only excellent qualifications, but also excellent life skills, such as the ability to problem solve, to be resilient, maintain focus and persevere, to reflect and adapt to current needs. I will ensure your children's uniqueness and hard work are recognized and will bring them confidence in all aspects of life. I aim to open the door of independent learning habits to my students, so that they can become strong, efficient, and successful individuals. The Kumon methodology with proper instruction can provide a strong foundation of self-learning that can help them excel in academia and beyond.
