About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Sara Oh comes to Kumon with a rich background in education.  Having received her BA from the University of California, Irvine and MA in Teaching from The George Washington University, she has worked in art museums all across the country as a professional museum educator.  While living abroad, she served as an Academic Director of an ESL learning center in Seoul, Korea.  It was during this time while raising her then preschool daughter that she witnessed every child in her daughter's school took Kumon or its equivalent!  Now, 7 years later, She is convinced that Kumon is the best program not only for developing academic skills but also for fostering life-skills and the love of learning that she decided to open her own Kumon Center!  As a Kumon parent of over 7 years, she has seen the benefits of Kumon in her own daughter and is committed to helping each child unlock their potential and to become better learners.  Mrs. Oh is proud to offer the Kumon program to the community of Federal Way, where she grew up and now raises her family.
