About the Instructor

Introduction

Welcome to Kumon of Fort Saskatchewan!

Greetings! My name is Cristina Craciun, and I've been the proud owner and operator of the Kumon Centre of Fort Saskatchewan since March 2017. As a parent myself, deeply passionate about education and committed to assisting children in achieving success in life, I embarked on the journey of establishing a Kumon Centre in Fort Saskatchewan.

In my role as a highly trained and certified professional instructor, I act as a mentor, guiding your children through their academic journey. This involves not only offering direction, support, and encouragement but also crafting personalized at-home study plans and overseeing their progress on classroom assignments. Emphasizing the significance of completing each task accurately and within the specified time frame is a key aspect of my approach to fostering their learning and growth.

The primary responsibility of Kumon instructors is to unlock the full potential of each student. We assess each student's academic proficiency and consistently supply them with worksheets tailored to their specific skill levels. We strive to maintain a learning environment where students experience a continuous sense of accomplishment in their daily studies, fostering both a love for learning and the ability to study independently.
By closely monitoring students' progress, we develop a keen understanding of their evolving skills and actively seek out strategies and resources to support their future growth.

At Kumon, we highly prioritize fostering independent study skills, encouraging students to develop problem-solving abilities without relying on someone else for answers. We believe that by nurturing their capacity to pursue their potential autonomously, students can achieve greater academic success.

Training and Certification

I have been extensively trained in the Kumon curriculum and method. This includes training at Kumon University in New Jersey, training in operating Kumon Centres, months of studying the math and reading materials and on-going professional development. Kumon fosters independent learning and I have learned the valuable observation and feedback skills to guide children through their journeys of learning. As they progress through the curriculum, I ensure they are working at the correct level and pace to ensure they are mastering the skills they are learning. Like all Kumon instructors, I am learning from the students as well, and the program is continually improving based on the results of our students.
