About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Instructor

Georgette Kankwende is a proud certified Texas educator. She taught 3rd - 5th grade and served as a campus data analyst in Texas public schools. She holds a BA in Psychology and a Master's in Educational Leadership from Angelo State University, a Texas School Principal certificate, and ESL certificate.

She became inspired to open a Kumon Math and Reading Center after witnessing her children gain strong math, reading, and concentration skills through the Kumon Method. She knew this was a program that had to be exposed to more children to narrow academic gaps and offer enriching opportunities to high-ability students. As an educator, Georgette believes that every child has a unique way of learning and that's the beauty of Kumon! She values the importance of exposing a child to individualized lessons that he or she can complete with ease to develop the confidence and critical thinking skills they can carry across all areas of their lives. She strives to advocate for children and ensure they receive quality and equitable education.

As a proud wife and mother of two Kumon students and a toddler, she is honored to serve families and communities in the area. Georgette and her staff look forward to seeing the educational growth and success every student in her center will accomplish!
