About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Ms. Barbara

Mrs. Barbara Penaloza is an accomplished Engineer; she has a degree in Structural Engineering. She worked in various capacities and levels of responsibilities in Austin and Phoenix. Mrs. Barbara taught technical classes in drafting, CAD, math, and engineering for several years. Her enthusiasm for teaching was evident.

Her first experience with Kumon was as a Kumon Parent. Mrs. Barbara enrolled her two children in the Kumon Math program and realized the effectiveness of the program. As a result, she also decided to enroll them in the Reading program. Shortly after, she embarked on a life-changing experience: becoming a Kumon Instructor. Mrs. Barbara established the Kumon Center of Gilbert in 1991, and ever since, she has devoted herself to unleashing each child's potential.

Mrs. Barbara's attention to detail, connection with the students, and communication with the parents make it possible for her students to be truly unique.
