About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

My name is Jaya Soma. I am the certified Kumon Instructor for the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Greensboro - Jamestown.

I lead a team of assistants providing in person and virtual support for students studying in the Kumon Math and Reading Programs. As a strong advocate for education, I help my students master concepts in both the subjects and believe that there is unlimited potential in each student I work with.

I started my Kumon Math and Reading Center of Jamestown (Greensboro) in 2006 and my Kumon Math and Reading Center of Lewisville in 2009. I have a MS Degree in Biological Sciences from India and an MBA Degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Prior to becoming a Kumon Instructor, I worked as a Business Analyst in the Banking Industry for number of years. I have been a resident of Lewisville for 20 years and a mother of three children.

Over these years, I have seen many of my students build strong math and reading skills and gain confidence in school and beyond. Our kids develop strong academic skills and I take pride in their success.

In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, hiking, cooking and spending time with my family.
