About the Instructor

Introduction

My name is Lakshmi Nagamohan, and I am the center director and a certified Kumon Instructor at the Kumon of West University. We have been serving this community for over 26 years and I am privileged to be a part of this historic center.

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement, I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Our mission at the Kumon of West University is to foster a learning environment that empowers individuals and the community through the three core values: respect, honesty, and open communication.

Biography and Background

Profile picture

My Kumon journey started when my children started the Kumon program. After experiencing the success and confidence the program offered to my own children, I decided to become a Kumon Instructor to help other students succeed as well. My daughter is a Kumon completer and I can see firsthand how the skills learnt in Kumon is helping her not only in high school but in all other areas of life as well. I want all students enrolled in my center to develop the same level of self-confidence, become self-learners in math and reading and gain from the skills that will help them in their future endeavors as well.

I strongly believe that every child has an untapped potential. As a certified Kumon Instructor for both math and reading, I have undergone extensive training to administer the Kumon Method so that students can realize their true potential. I strive to focus on the student as a whole - not just their academics but make sure they are developing the right kind of work skills, study approach, and discipline to complete their worksheets which will eventually shape them into successful individuals in society.

Our staff is an integral part of this journey and together we strive to ensure that all our students walk in and out of our center with a big smile on their faces every class day. This is truly priceless and our goal is to achieve this for every student through carefully lesson planning, monitoring of worksheet completion and ensuring they are always at their 'just right level' of learning in the Kumon program.
