Biography and Background

Ms. Connie

Connie Schmidt Kirman is the owner and director of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Howell. Prior to taking over the center, Connie was a founding member of Global Teaching Consultants and worked in higher education teacher professional development.

Connie started her career working for several international companies in the areas of operations and marketing before becoming interested in higher education and professional development. She worked for The College of New Jersey in the Office of Graduate Studies as Assistant Director where she enthusiastically worked to promote programs for teachers both domestically and internationally.

Branching out from adult education to taking over the Kumon Center of Howell sparked a passion in not only math and reading, but study skills that support all learning.  Connie continually studies the impact of soft skills on student development and has co-taught study skills courses for teens.

A keen interest in learning and helping children develop strong mental health skills led her to become a Certified Brain Health Coach through Amen Clinics.
