Ms. Tiya and Ms. Weiwei will oversee our center starting September 2023. Both are experienced and trained Kumon Instructors with many years of experiences in helping students achieving their academic goals.
Ms. Tiya Chang has earned her Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science from City University of New York, John Jay College. She started to discover her enthusiasm for education when she served as a Chemistry peer tutor at college. For eight years, she had worked as a chief assistant at Kumon of Manorville in Long Island where she learned about and became a believer of the Kumon Method. Later, Tiya began her career at Kumon North America, Inc. as an assistant instructor in different centers in Manhattan.
Tiya has developed not only her professional skills but also a caring and compassionate personality. She has worked with thousands of students, and until today she still receives mail and messages from parents and students sharing their success in college and in life. She could not be prouder of them!
Ms. Weiwei Chang has earned her Master of Philosophy in EALAC and Master of Arts in Film Studies from Columbia University in the City of New York and her Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from National Taiwan University. She started to discover her enthusiasm for helping students unlock their potentials when working as a teaching assistant at Columbia University, and later as a college admission consultant in New York City for ten years. Weiwei knows the importance of having students develop strong math and reading skills which will profoundly help them succeed academically in the long run. She believes every child will benefit from the Kumon Method because it has the power to transform them into lifelong self-learners.
Weiwei has gained experiences at Kumon of Whitestone and Kumon of Astoria in Queens where she worked with numerous students and witnessed them moving beyond their grade levels with growing confidence each day. She looks forward to meeting and working with your children and seeing them take off to achieve their goals!
