About the Instructor

Introduction

Meet Sanjit Kaur; An Instructor with the professional skills & ability to connect with her Students.

Hello!

I have been an Instructor since 2006. It has been my pleasure to work with over 2000 children in the last 18 years. I am the Instructor at both Kumon of Kanata North & Kumon of Ottawa - The Glebe centers.

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. I am also a certified Rapid Transformational therapist (RTT; Marisa Peer), Compassionate Inquiry therapist (CI; Dr. Gabor Mate), trained in Suicide Attention VS Prevention and various other Somatic healing modalities.

I combine my varied therapy insights along with Intentional Instruction in order to individualize my lesson planning and motivate each student on an individual level to reach their full potential. This has become even more obvious (and important!) after the Pandemic and the long shutdowns which have affected many children's self esteem, confidence, learning and communication skills. Alongside I have picked up many best practices from successful, experienced Instructors and Centre visits all over the world to implement at my centers e.g San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas, Washington, Baltimore, Kenya, Japan, Bangkok etc to name but a few.

Kumon's well designed worksheets and curriculum works wonders in children with learning challenges and those on School IEP's in building a daily routine, developing self confidence, mastering the foundational concepts and working well above grade level concepts, with a long term commitment to success. On the other hand Students that feel the need to be challenged, to work well beyond their School grade levels and aim for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP) systems, or future Ivy league schools can also truly benefit from the discipline, habits, critical thinking skills and mastery that the Kumon program - that is monitored by an experienced Instructor - oversees and develops.

At both of my Centers every child is an Achiever, regardless of what levels they start at!
