Anica's Story
My name is Anica, I am 13 years old and will be starting eighth grade this upcoming school year. Kumon has been really helpful for me, both in class and out. From an academic standpoint, Kumon has been beneficial for me because it has introduced me to material years before I first learn it in school. It has made school much easier for me since I have already learned much of the school curriculum in Kumon. But Kumon hasn't just taught me about equations and words, it has also helped me improve myself as a person. I am more confident in my abilities because I know that I am capable of completing work that is above my grade level. I think that there is something really powerful in being able to believe in yourself without the validation of others, and Kumon has helped me find that for myself.
Om's Story
Kumon has undeniably played a huge role in where I am academically today. I started Kumon after I didn’t pass the qualifications test for my school’s math competition in 3rd grade. Eager to learn, I started the Kumon math curriculum and began Kumon English several months later. In a year’s time, the payoff was undeniable; I had progressed a year beyond my grade level and qualified for the school’s math competition. Over the years, this progress has grown two-fold and opened access to levels of accomplishment that had previously seemed unreachable. The Kumon math and reading curriculum and its ideals of hard work and dedication are some of the most constructive tools available in education, applicable to many aspects of life aside from academia. The lessons it has taught me will remain a guiding factor in my decisions.
Austin's Story
Hi, I'm Austin, and my experience with Kumon has been exceedingly impactful on my academics in school. When I first joined Kumon in 7th grade, I struggled with math. I started with just the basic fundamentals of math and believed I was far behind my grade level, but as I stayed in the program for just a few months, I saw significant improvements in my grades and developed a love for math.
During 8th grade, I was one of the top students in my math class because I had already learned the concepts from Kumon! Before starting high school, I felt the math class I was supposed to be in would be too easy, so I took a placement test for the highest-level math class offered to freshmen, and I got in! Kumon has played a major role in my academic success.
Not only did Kumon help me in my academic journey, but it also taught me how to self-learn new material, develop better study habits, take responsibility, and build confidence in my schoolwork. Kumon has been a transformative, crucial, and immensely valuable part of my learning experience, and I highly recommend it to any students who want to see substantial improvements in their academics and life.
