Biography
I am happy to introduce myself as the Kumon Instructor of the Langley-Willowbrook location. I have owned and operated this franchise with the help of my family for the past 6 years. I was born and raised in British Columbia and I studied Chemistry during my undergraduate degree at the University of British Columbia. I later completed a Master's Degree in Science and had the opportunity to become a teaching assistant at UBC for undergraduate Chemistry courses. It was during my time as a teaching assistant that I discovered my love for teaching.
I am a firm believer in the mantra: "practice makes perfect" and I urge all students to adopt a growth mindset. I enjoy learning new things because it enables me to see things from a student's perspective and understand the emotional side of what it means to learn from mistakes. As a firm believer in life-long learning, I like to read books about parenting and practice calculus and upper level Math skills in my spare time.
I am a mother to two energetic boys ages 4 and 1.5 years old. My older son has been a Kumon student for just over a year. It has been such a treat to see the Kumon process from the home front. It has made me very appreciative of all the hard work and motivation that both parents and students put into long term study. I like to post videos of his progress on our social media sites (both Facebook and Instagram @kumonwillowbrook)
