About the Instructor

Introduction

Michael Morrison is an extensively trained and certified professional instructor. As a mentor, Michael will guide your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. An at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments will be emphasized as well as the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This will help many of the students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Kumon is not a quick fix program, so the longer the child remains the more he or she will benefit. Like all Kumon Instructors, Michael has a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Michael Morrison

Dear Parent,

Thank you for choosing the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Las Vegas - Silverado Ranch. My name is Michael Morrison, Center Director of the Silverado Ranch location. You have made the right decision allowing us to present to you how the Kumon Method can work to help you unleash your child's full potential. Kumon is not a quick fix program, it is a long-term one, so both you and your child need to make a commitment to achieve the desired results.

Before starting the program, all students begin with a free placement test. This test will determine the child's starting point in the Kumon curriculum. Once enrolled, students work roughly 30-40 minutes in class twice a week. The same amount of time will also be spent at home doing homework. On non-class days, students are given homework to ensure they are learning the materials outside of class. The students start at a level where they can have immediate success and go through a step-by-step process as they move up through the curriculum. The worksheets the pupils receive are designed to promote self-learning. The work will be monitored to determine their progress and whether or not the child will advance or need more practice.

Kumon classes are year round at our Center on Monday and Thursday between the hours of 2:30 pm - 7:00 pm and on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between 2:30pm-6:30pm.

As a certified Kumon Instructor, I have been trained with the latest steps in the Kumon Method. I will ensure your child achieves the highest level of learning to help them succeed not only in our Kumon Center, but in everyday life.

I had spent three years teaching English in Japan as an Assistant Language Instructor through the JET Programme. Kumon started in Japan and its method not only works there, but around 50 other nations across the world. I have two young boys that started with the Kumon Program at the age of three. The success both of my boys achieved with the Kumon method made me realize that it is a program that really works and ensures that every student master their basics in reading and math. These two elements of education are vital in succeeding with all other subjects at school.

Once again, I thank you as a parent for investing in the opportunity to improve your child's education. You are making the right decision and will definitely see the results!
