About the Instructor

I am Shivani Wazir, the Instructor at Kumon of Lloydminster - College Park. My strong belief in the value of education has culminated in the opening of Kumon of Lloydminster - College Park.

As an extensively trained and certified professional Instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This will help my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant.

Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed. 

We have been KUMON parents since 2008. We were living in BC, when we first got introduced to Kumon, and we enrolled our daughter Anunita, who was in grade 1 at that time. We found the program really beneficial and saw the value it provided. When we moved to Lloydminster in 2013, there was no centre in town, so, we enrolled the girls in the nearest centre, the Sherwood Park - Millennium Centre. We were extremely fortunate to find Greg Robinson, the instructor at the Sherwood Park centre. We would make trips to Sherwood Park (a 2-hour drive from Lloydminster) so that both Anunita and Nikita could continue the program.

Anunita has now completed the program and Nikita (my 9 year old) is currently enrolled.

I have a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and have successfully completed my Investment Funds in Canada (IFIC) certification with honors. In my 13 years of banking experience, I have been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to meet with wonderful people and families.

I have chosen to open a Kumon Centre in town, which gives me the opportunity to help children in our community become more successful, not just in school, but to help them succeed in life with the increased confidence, focus, self-reliance, motivation and love of learning that Kumon students gain.

I have been extensively trained in the Kumon curriculum and method.  This includes training at Kumon University in New Jersey, months of studying the math and reading materials along with writing exams for each level in the Math and Reading programs. Kumon fosters independent learning and I have learned the valuable observation and feedback skills to guide children through their journey of learning.  As they progress through the curriculum I will ensure they are working at the correct level and pace to ensure they are mastering the skills they are learning.  Like all Kumon Instructors, I will be learning from the students and having been a Kumon parent for the last several years, I will be using that experience to help motivate kids on their journey.
