About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

My name is Swapna Yarlagadda and and I am the Instructor at Kumon Math and Reading Center of Los Altos - Central.

Being a parent of two school-aged kids and an active school PTA board member, I love to dedicate my time towards children’s success by helping them discover who they are, determine their strengths and potential and helping them set and meet their goals through the Kumon method of teaching. Being an active project cornerstone reader for the past few years at my kids’ school helped me understand each child’s individual personality and gave me the ability to mentor kids towards their success. I believe the work skills they develop through Kumon methodology help the students to get more motivated in learning and challenging themselves.

With the current education being at a very competitive level, there is a need of constant guidance and proper structure for the children to succeed in their goals. Working in the corporate industry for more than 10 years, I understand there is always a need to have proper guidance for the children to succeed. With my Masters in Computer Science qualification, I hope to utilize my education towards my passion for children’s success through the Kumon learning concept and make a positive difference and meaningful impact in the lives of students and their families.

I strongly believe Kumon learning is a triangle of trust with parents, student and the instructor being the three corners of that triangle. This coordinated effort as a team with open communication and appropriate feedback will help our students reach educational success.
