About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

I was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawai‘i and have served the community as a Kumon Instructor for over 30 years, mentoring students at the Mānoa and Kailua Kumon Centers. As a passionate educator, I am dedicated to promoting a positive learning environment as well as nurturing a life-long love of learning while maximizing the potential in each of my students. 

Although I am delighted to see my former students continue to make a positive impact on our community as professionals, leaders, innovators, the opportunity to serve their children has been profoundly heartfelt and is one of the meaningful rewards of my career as a Kumon Instructor. Knowing that my former students have valued their Kumon experience to the point that they would want to share that legacy with their own children with us is truly priceless.

The Instruction Team at the Mānoa Kumon Center is comprised of veteran staff with over 75 years of collective experience in mentoring, developing, and bringing out the best in students of all ages. Our team prides itself on creating a positive learning environment and distinguish themselves not only with their educational background and experience, but with their commitment and dedication to our students and families. 

In observance of pandemic conditions, our Centers have adapted our operations to adopt re-imagined, virtual learning environments and technologies that facilitate connectivity and communication and supplement in-person instruction. Our Instruction Team will continue to connect with and engage our students through these virtual learning environments to better serve our students and their educational needs.
