What do you enjoy most about Kumon?
I enjoy how I “level up” in my education and I feel good when I am top of my class and happy that Kumon helped me do that.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
When I grow up, I want to make breakthroughs in technology, be an amazing artist that the world will know, and discover new things in science.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
My biggest inspirations are my parents because they always work so hard and are caring. They do so much for me and my siblings. My parents are also so smart, which encourages me to one day be even smarter than they are.
What advice would you give to kids just starting Kumon?
I would say just remember that even if you don’t like the homework or are finding it hard, to know that Kumon is helping them become smarter.
How do you continue to stay motivated in Kumon even when work becomes challenging?
I just think about how smart I want to be and even if the math seems hard, I know I will master it soon.

What is your favorite book and why?
My favorite book is Harry Potter. I like it because the plot is intriguing, and I enjoy how descriptive it is.
What do you enjoy most about Kumon?
My favorite part is how I learn so much so fast. Every set (I have five-page sets) I have encountered in the last two or three levels has added new information (like derivatives of different functions like lnx or sinx) every few pages, and it teaches me how to use it in the context of the problem.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I have been thinking about that for a long time. I know I want to be in a profession in the field of math, like finance, but it is still something I am pondering about.
Who is your biggest inspiration and why?
My father, he is astoundingly good at math and earned so many achievements. I look up to him to help me succeed.
What advice would you give to kids just starting Kumon?
It will not be easy but working hard will pay off. Everyone encounters some challenges while learning. What matters is that you keep working and don’t give up.
What achievements are you most proud of?
In Kumon, getting to Level J in math in fourth grade, but altogether, winning the International Math Olympiad Challenge was the best. A lot of concepts Kumon reviewed were in it, so I was extremely prepared for it.
If you could sum up your Kumon experience in one word, what would it be?
Hard to say, but I think excelling, because I have been ahead of everyone I know in my grade and I achieved so much with what I learned, like the International Math Olympiad Championship award.
What is the most beneficial thing you’ve learned in Kumon thus far?
I would say basically everything, but since I can choose only one, I would choose algebra and how to apply it into a multitude of problems.
How was your transition to online learning?
It was hard at first, but I got used to it. It is now very helpful with all the new resources available. However, I am excited for remote learning to end so I can see my teachers in an actual classroom.
