About the Instructor

Introduction

Over the past ten years working with families and students involved in Kumon, I have seen first-hand the success that comes from developing logic and self-learning. I work closely with both the children and the parents to create an environment that promotes a love of learning. By developing good study habits and setting goals, we can build children’s self-confidence. Like all Kumon instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children thrive.

Biography and Background

After graduating with a BA in education from the Colorado State University, I began teaching. After several years, I accepted a job as a corporate trainer in Europe. My husband and I worked for several years in Holland. When we returned to the United States, I discovered Kumon and have been involved with the learning program ever since.

Training and Certification

After several years teaching and working at a corporate trainer, I joined Kumon in 2001.  I have 10 years of experience with the Kumon math and reading curriculum as well as  teaching certification and a BA in education.
