Testimonial

Aarav H., Grade 4

"What I enjoy about Kumon is that you get to learn new stuff before anybody else in school. Kumon has helped me academically because I get to learn it in an easier way. The most useful thing I learned in Kumon is multiplication because it is useful almost anywhere and it also saves time. I enjoy Kumon because it helps me in school."

Myia D., Grade 3

"My Name is Myia Dev and I go to Kumon. I like that Kumon helps me get good scores in school. Kumon has helped me academically with Reading, Writing and Mathematics. The most beneficial thing I have learned in Kumon is Math because it helps me a lot.

Kumon has helped me outside the classroom because in school I have won many learning games.

I like travelling and I like ice skating when I am not in school or at Kumon.

When I grow up, I want to be a doctor.

The achievements I am most proud of are winning medals.

If I could sum up my Kumon experience in one word, it would be "Studies". The advice I would give to kids just starting Kumon is to try their best and have fun. Some other information I would like to share about myself and my Kumon experience is that Kumon has helped me a lot in my studies at school."

Katherina P., Grade 9

"Kumon really got me prepared for school because it focuses on the number and solution part of Math and during school, I am able to apply my knowledge from Kumon. It helps you academically and also teaches responsibility and time-management to a child since you need to have all your homework done on top of your Kumon. Since Kumon covers a huge variety of Math subjects, I think it is fair to say that everything I have learned in the program is useful and I have benefited from all of it. I am an AP student and I would like to think that it is partially because of Kumon. Because of it, I am able to have a head start or completely understand what my teacher is teaching."

Pahul J., Grade 9

"Hello! My name is Pahul, I am thirteen years old and have been attending Kumon at this Centre for 2 years. I enjoy a lot of things about Kumon. Stereotypically, kids think of Kumon as "boring", but it's actually a lot of fun! When I go to Kumon, I am excited to challenge my brain and it motivates me to strive to achieve my best. Along with that, we also get daily homework, helping to keep our brains active and focused.

Kumon also helped me academically and because of this am easily able to understand topics discussed at school, which helps me get ahead of my class.

The most beneficial thing I have learned in Kumon is how to improve my work ethic. At Kumon, we are required to practice daily. Whether it be classwork or homework, I know I have to do one assignment daily, helping me develop a good work ethic. Along with that, the repetition of the more complicated concepts helps me not just memorize formulas, but also understand them critically. I also get to learn "tricks" at Kumon that help me do my work faster and more efficiently. We also have the opportunity to win awards, and I always work harder because I want to get the gold medal. I also get excited when I clear a level because we get an ice-cream ticket.

Kumon provides a very supportive environment where my peers motivate me to work harder. If my friend is in a level ahead of me, my competitive spirit is raised and I am even more determined to pass the level.

Last but not least, I would like to give one piece of advice to kids starting Kumon - do your homework every day! Don't wait until the last day to do all of it!"

Aarush D., Grade SK

"My name is Aarush and I enjoy doing both Reading and Math workbooks at Kumon. I am able to sound out letters, recognize and read words and form sentences. I also am able to count numbers.

I like making crafts and creating things out of it. When I grow up, I want to be a chef.

I find Kumon work very engaging and I am happy to go to Kumon class and do all my classwork.

I would like to advise kids to do Kumon homework and classwork with interest."

Samradha R., Grade 1

"My name is Samradha and I am in Grade 1.

Kumon has helped me academically. In Math, initially, addition of bigger numbers was not so easy and I would take a long time to solve but now it has become easy to get the right answer very quickly. In Reading, I just learned new words and how to spell them with ease.

When I write tests, I get ice-cream coupons.

It is really fun to do classwork. When I see kids around sitting independently and doing their work, I feel I too can do the same."

Zubin S., Grade 9

"The thing I like most about Kumon is the learning method and the teachers. They facilitate in your learning that is grade relevant and above content in an effective way and the teachers always find a way to explain it to you. Kumon has helped me a lot academically. In school, when we started a new Math topic, I was like, 'Great, I have already mastered this, thanks to Kumon', and then it is much easier in school."

Siyaa A., Grade 9

Kumon is an amazing educational network that has helped and is helping multiple students across North America but zooming into one individual, me. Kumon has helped me throughout school, whether it be elementary school or middle school. It has always been beneficial in a sort of way towards Math class. Ever since I was little, I always loved Math, however, Kumon has helped me explore further. All the way from Grade 1 to Grade 9, I have been known in my classes, as the best in Math. I got accepted into several programs such as gifted, IB, IBT, primarily based on my skills in Math, which Kumon helped me develop.

At the Centre, they do not simply hand you off some work that you are expected to finish and come back to hand it in. What I have always liked about Kumon is that when you are in to do your classwork, the Kumon staff at the Centre will always help you if you need it. At this time, you can ask any questions that you may have regarding your homework, so that when you go home you don't struggle with any question. This has always been helpful as any time I receive new material and don't understand what to do, I ask them beforehand to prevent unfinished homework.

Looking at the most beneficial things I have learned at Kumon, there is a wide scope as everything I have done so far has helped me in the past and I  know things that I am doing, or am yet to do, will help me in the future. This has just been my personal experience and I hope Kumon has helped everyone the way it has helped me.
