About the Instructor

Kumon Sapperton Instructor

The Instructor has been a resident of New Westminster for over 20 years and has raised a family in the beautiful, friendly neighborhoods of BC's first capital!

Irfan is an impassioned individual who has 10 years of Kumon instructorship. He is a product of the Vancouver schooling system, with post-secondary at UBC, George Washington University and Royal Roads.  

The uniqueness of each child deserves a great deal of attention. Together with the parent and the student, a tremendous amount of progress and success can be achieved. A sensible study plan tailored to each student's needs is the key to success, whether remedial or enriched study. The cornerstones of education are numbers and communication; taking Math and Reading together within Kumon's curriculum of excellence will complement school and ingrain proper work and study habits, which every child must have to succeed. Upon spending 15 years in the IT field, my children became enrolled in Kumon studies at very young ages. It was the best thing to happen to such young academics!  It became the doorway to a philosophical change in their education.  With careful attention from home and Kumon, they became and have become prolific learners.  They are excelling in their studies well into high school, approximately 2-3 years ahead of their peer group.  This has allowed them to focus on extra-curricular activities, other challenging subjects in school and overall, becoming free-thinkers, to take charge of their own destiny!
