One of our favorite things about daily Kumon study is the opportunity it creates for praise. At the Kumon Center of Allen Towne Center, we strive to find ways to praise our students each time they are in the Center. Don’t forget to praise your child when they complete their Kumon work at home, too. You might try statements like, “Wow! You learned that new concept without any help at all!” Or, “I really like the way you wrote all of your letters neatly today!” Be specific and encouraging and you might find that your child will study more enthusiastically.

Plano Student Honored for Exceptional Academic Success

DURHAM, NC — Shriya Reddy, a 7th grade student from Rice Middle School in Plano, TX, has been named a Duke TIP 2017 William and Dorothy C. Bevan Scholar as the result of her high combined SAT Critical Reading + Math score! As a Bevan Scholar, she has earned a full scholarship to attend a Duke TIP Center-level Summer Studies Program or to enroll in an eStudies summer course. She will be honored by the Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) and recognized at the Grand Recognition Ceremony, to be held on May 22 at Duke University’s Cameron Indoor Stadium.
