About the Instructor

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Hello!

My name is Rita Bareh-Gergis and I am the Kumon Instructor of New Sudbury - Montrose Mall. I have a Bachelor degree in Education and I studied at the University of Sorbonne in Paris. I traveled around the world exploring many educational methods and learning from others. My main experience was in England, UK where I spent 5 years working in different schools and learning different approaches to literacy and numeracy. Overall, I have over 20 years of experience as a teacher and a youth leader.

My journey with Kumon started with my eldest son, who was only 7 years old when I registered him in Kumon Math. I couldn't believe the levels and the success he achieved. Currently, I have 3 children in Kumon and I am blessed to see each one of them blooming in a different way. After 10 years of being a Kumon parent, I decided to become an instructor so I could use all of my past experience and knowledge to help children as young as 3 years old.

I am pleased to introduce French instructions and teach math in French. I am happy to serve both communities, English and French.

My goal is to combine my range of experience with my ability to be a compassionate and enthusiastic Instructor, who will positively contribute to the growth of your child and the larger community. I am very proud to be able to offer this service in my community and I look forward to working with your child.
