About the Centre

Introduction

Welcome to our Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Niagara Falls. For more than 50 years, Kumon’s after-school academic enrichment program has helped children achieve success worldwide. We strive to instill in children the desire to achieve and the motivation to learn on their own. Whether your child is seeking enrichment, needs help catching up or is just beginning his or her academic career, Kumon is designed to help him or her develop a love of learning.

Students advance through the program at their own pace. Our emphasis on individualized learning helps your child become focused, motivated and self-reliant. We monitor each child’s progress to ensure comprehension before moving on to a new concept. With a strong academic foundation, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, your child has the potential to achieve whatever he or she desires.

The Kumon Math Program is a comprehensive curriculum that develops the necessary skills to help children progress from counting through calculus. For more information about the Kumon Math Program, click here.

The Kumon Reading Program begins with basic phonics and progresses all the way through advanced reading comprehension. For more information about the Kumon Reading Program, click here.

Enrollment Information

Registration Fee - $60.00
Standard Monthly Tuition - $135.00 per subject/per child
(No tuition discounts are available for multi-subject or multi-student enrollments)

A one-time New Student Registration Fee, along with the first month’s tuition, is due before or on your child's first class. These initial fees are payable by either Cash or Check. Ongoing monthly tuition is payable by Pre-Authorized Debit (PAD). This is set up upon registration. Payments are processed on the 1st of every month.
$25.00 will be charged for non-sufficient funds (NSF) or non-current banking information. Please let us know if your banking information changes so we can update your information.

A minimum of 6 months commitment is required from the date of enrollment. Kumon is not a BAND-AID FIX. It's a long term program that is a supplement to your child's daily work schedule. Trust the program and give your child the time to see the results!

Kumon Policy

If a student will be temporarily absent from Kumon for a one month break, 30 days notice must be given.

If a student will be discontinuing Kumon, 30 days notice must be given in advance. Failure to give such notice will result in a full charge of class fees for the next month.

Students who are absent from Kumon for more than 1 consecutive month, or for more than 1 month per calendar year will be considered “discontinued” by Kumon North America. Discontinued students will be removed from the Kumon program. Discontinued students will be required to pay the Registration Fee again upon re-enrollment.

Student Incentives:
All students are automatically enrolled in Kumon North America’s Plus program.  This free loyalty program allows students to collect monthly points for their enrollment, which overtime allows them to redeem their points for prizes. More information is available on kumonplus.ca

Every year, our center celebrates all of our students’ achievements by hosting a Student Awards Celebration in the Fall for students and their families. This is to recognize ALL students from newly enrolled to Honor Roll. It's a fantastic and well attended event!

Class Rules:
Please ensure that your child’s pouch is looked after and that your child comes prepared to work with a pencil, eraser, their scheduled work booklet to complete in class and their completed homework to hand in.

Daily homework completion is essential and must be handed in weekly when your child comes to class or dropped off in our DROP OFF BOX on Mondays from 9:00am - 7:00pm just outside our center door for students working virtually.

Parents dropping off weekly homework can also pick up their child's corrections by checking their folder on the table next to the DROP OFF BOX. (By Last Name)

Homework Drop off and Correction Pick up is EVERY MONDAY FROM 9:00am - 7:00pm

Home marking is another option for parents and a bonus for students as they can make instant corrections once it has been marked. Parents who decide to home grade will be given a score sheet and a mini lesson on how to properly mark their child's work and send in scores to Mrs. Artista.

Students are required to respect our assistants and behave properly while at the Kumon Center.
