About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

My name is Obaid Vicaruddin. I graduated from the University of South Florida (Tampa) with a Bachelor's in English. Upon graduating, I taught at a Montessori school for 2 years, ranging from grades 1-3 and 6-7. My intention was to teach English at either a middle school or high school level, but when the opportunity to run a Kumon center arose, I decided to take that route. My decision was based on my years of experience working at a Kumon center. I have been a Kumon Instructor since 2015. My mother had been my primary influence for getting involved in Kumon, being that she had been a teacher for over 30 years, and was also a Kumon Instructor for over 15 years.

I have two children, ages 3 and 9, who are also enrolled at Kumon. Outside of Kumon, I enjoy listening to music, watching quality films, and reading and writing.

I look forward to meeting and helping your children reach their potential.
