Josie’s Story
Josie is 10-years-old, studying three years above her grade level in the Kumon Program. In fact, she’s studying the same math material that her mom, who is an eighth grade teacher, teaches her students. Imagine that, a 10-year-old transforming equations, working with linear functions and simplifying monomials and polynomials. She’s well on her way to advanced algebraic expressions and she isn’t even in middle school yet.
One of the things that Josie likes most about Kumon is the fact that she’s studying above her grade level.
“Kumon gives me confidence because I know how strong of a student it has made me,” says Josie. “I know that I can do and learn anything if I do the work and practice daily. Kumon has taught me about the importance of focusing and to not be afraid of challenges, but to enjoy them and work through them because I know I can overcome anything.”
Josie embodies everything that Toru Kumon had in mind when he founded the Kumon Method. He felt that students would experience the true benefits of the Kumon Method if they acquired the study habits necessary for self-learning and advanced study.

My daughter has grown so much in both reading and math thanks to Kumon. Teacher Obaid is patient and takes the time to help the students.

Literally amazing. I came here when I was little and it helped way more than I ever needed. I am now ahead of the high school math that I am learning and it is crazy how much it helped me improve. All the people leaving bad reviews are kids who aren't old enough to realize the benefit this place actually gives. Thanks Mr. Obaid for providing me with the best possible learning experience!
EDIT: I just got into my dream school and graduated in the top 1% of my class. Credit goes to Kumon for sure.

My son just finished his Kindergarten year. We didn't start Kumon until late in the school year (April). However, even with the short amount of time coming his teacher saw improvement in his performance. I want to clarify some of the above comments if I may. The children do get homework, yes it is a booklet and yes it is repetition, but it is not the exact same there are small difference until the child has completely learned the level or skill they need to master before moving on. Which is one of the best things I can say about Kumon! They are not just a center pushing work and moving on. If they see your child is not ready to move on, they will work with your child until they get it down. So, yes its repetitious, but the booklets are not exactly the same there are small differences, but it will be on the same level until the child is ready to move on which is how it should be versus doing a lesson and when the child doesn't understand move on to the next lesson that just doesn't make sense to me (sadly most schools are doing this). I recommend Kumon to anyone who ever tells me that their child is struggling. Thank you to the Kumon program for helping my son and get better prepared for the 1st grade. We will be continuing our services.

Kumon has helped me so much, and I can see the difference in my skill level. If it wasn't for Kumon, I don't know how I would've managed high school.
