About the Instructor

Introduction

As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor, Phyllis Peyron serves as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. She creates an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and she emphasizes the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of her Pleasant Hill students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, Phyllis has a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

Biography and Background

Since 1990, Phyllis Peyron has been dedicating herself to supporting parents in their effort to develop their children to become independent self-learners through the KUMON METHOD. Phyllis is a true believer that education starts from home, and home is the only place that individualized learning can take place. She has seen that when students learn to study properly at home, they will be well prepared for the challenges of school.

By providing a structure of purposeful daily study of systematically designed worksheets, the Kumon Method has been helping tap the full potential of students for 53 years in over 46 countries.  In the past 20+ years, Phyllis has been applying the Kumon Method in nurturing students to achieve their full potential in several communities near Pleasant Hill.  Given the opportunity to study Kumon Math and Reading daily with independence, students will naturally gain proficiency in these academic subjects, but the benefits of Kumon extend well beyond into character development.  Phyllis believes that Kumon students also learn to be persevering, self-reliant, and considerate members of society!

Recently, the Kumon Center of Pleasant Hill has gone through an extensive remodel to improve the learning environment for its Kumon students and their families. Success in life starts with high academic achievement, and academic achievement depends on good study skills. Advanced level of knowledge can only be built upon a solid foundation along with effective and productive work skills. Practicing proper study etiquette and shoring up of foundation are initial steps of the Kumon Method of learning!
