About the Instructor

My name is Jalpa Patel. As an extensively trained and certified professional instructor of the Kumon Math and Reading Center of Redondo Beach - South, I serve as a mentor who guides your children through their work while also providing direction, support and encouragement. I create an at-home study plan in addition to monitoring classroom assignments, and I emphasize the importance of accurately completing each assignment within a designated time frame. This has helped many of my students increase self-confidence, thus becoming more self-reliant. Like all Kumon Instructors, I have a true passion for education and an earnest desire to help children succeed.

With a degree in Child Psychology and in the education field since 2003, I have a passion for working with children. Understanding the transformative effect of a good education, I enrolled my children in Kumon. With two Kumon students in tow and a hunger to spread the unique method of learning, I decided to open Kumon Math and Reading Center of Redondo Beach - South.

As a mom and an educator, I always see my own children in every child I teach. Because I have seen my children achieve success in the Kumon Program, I want to offer the same opportunities to other kids in the community.

I look forward to using my entire skillset, including my background in Child Psychology, to engage with my students and help them reach their goals through proper instruction. My passion for teaching stems from the knowledge that children can improve at almost anything if trained properly. That's what I like most about the Kumon curriculum - We are always learning and always improving !!
